Here at Apple Honda we are dedicated to giving you both sides of the story, whether it be good or bad. We most definitely prefer giving you positive Honda news relating to new models, technology, safety advancements, initiatives and philanthropic efforts, but we feel it is our duty to keep you fully informed when something goes awry. After all, it's natural to make mistakes. So, to keep you completely informed, we are going to discuss the voluntary recall Honda has announced on certain 2005-2010 four-cylinder Honda Accord,  2007-2010 Honda CR-V, and 2005-2008 Honda Elements.

The Japanese automaker has recalled roughly 1,500,000 Honda cars in the United States to update the software controlling the automatic transmission. The recall is to prevent any potential damage to the secondary shaft bearing of the affected vehicle's automatic transmission from quick, vigorous shifting employed when trying to get free from mud or snow. Potential side effects of damage include engine stalling or trouble putting the car into park.

Honda writes the following in their press release, "Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda."1 At the end of the month Honda will begin mailing official recall notifications.
