Honda says, with 2012 Fit, you'll be able to "navigate the urban maze in style."1 And with a peppy 117-hp, 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, you'll have fun doing it. That said, Apple Honda has little doubt that the Fit is one of the best subcompacts available today. But we don't expect you just to take our word for it.
Which is why we love it when some of the industry's most trusted experts conduct real-world testing and pit the best-of-the-best against each other. We especially love it when one of our favorite Honda models comes out on top. For example, Cars.com and USA Today recently conducted their annual "$16,000 Subcompact Shootout," and you can be sure that the Honda Fit easily beat out the six other cars that were up for the title of best subcompact.
What was it about the Fit that put it head-and-shoulders above the rest? Well, according to the Editor-in-Chief at Cars.com, Patrick Olsen, "In addition to confident handling, a solid transmission, great visibility and unmatched practicality, the Honda Fit is just fun to drive and emerged as our clear winner."1
The real-world couple, Erik Rose and Robyn Gerry-Rose, who individually tested each subcompact, loved the roomy interior of the Fit, it's zippy engine, and both felt at-ease behind the wheel of the road-hugging vehicle. Erik says, "As soon as you sit in it and drive it, you feel at home."2 And it won Robyn over, even though she says, "It is not normally a car that I would consider."3
